AEQI vs super.engineering
September 10, 2026 · Luca Eich

Choose super.engineering if you are a developer on Apple Silicon, the work is a repository, and you want the fastest native cockpit for driving several coding agents at once.
Choose AEQI if the work is not code but the business: a website today, and a team that finds leads and writes the emails for you to approve.
What super.engineering is
Its bio is “frictionless agentic engineering”. Previously called Superconductor, it is a native macOS app — Rust, a Metal-rendered terminal, no Electron — for running coding agents in parallel, each in its own git worktree with its own branch, terminal, session history and review diff. It supports around fifteen agent providers, including Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, OpenCode and Cursor Agent. In mid-September 2026 it was an alpha: a free download, no account, no announced pricing, Apple Silicon only.

super.engineering is the better choice when
- You are a developer on Apple Silicon and want the fastest interface for supervising several coding agents at once.
- The work is a repository, and you want each agent’s branch and diff side by side.
- You want to pay nothing today and keep every file on your own machine.
AEQI is the better choice when
- The work is not code: a website, leads, emails to write, and someone to approve them.
- You don’t use a terminal and don’t want to: you talk to your team in a web app.
- You want it to keep working when the laptop is shut, on a server of its own, hosted in Germany.
